The weather was so incredibly beautiful today...something to do with the santa ana winds or something...it was warm, sunny, and comfortable. We went to Huenemme today at around 11:30, dropped some wine off at C's parents house [the story surrounding that to follow soon] and then went to the beach...I guess they are dredging the beach there now, which means they are dumping tons of sand into the ocean which as a result turns into a "man made" beach of sorts. It was really nice though..there weren't many people there, so we let the dog run without a leash, and boy did he have a blast. Running like a mad man up and down the beach, grabbing rocks and seaweed, rooting in the sand and the water. It was fun.

I am giving the details of my weekend in reverse order, not sure why!

Last night we did nothing., we watch "Rumble Fish" and just sort of hung out. C made sloppy joes for dinner, which were so ghetto and good. During the day it was UGLY and cold, so we spend a few hours shopping for wedding reception things. We went to Michaels and bought the balance of the materials we will need for the cake, and I just browsed around in hopes of stirring up some ideas for favors. Nothing yet, but I did grab a ton of Martha Steward mags from C's mom to look through.

Friday night we went to eat at Capprecio. Yummy. I had a pesto, tomato pizza and a walnut and pear salad, with blue cheese dressing. It was good.

Oh, the part about the wine goes something like this. We want to buy 30 bottles of wine for our reception dinner. Guiseppes cheapest red wine is $19.00 per bottle which would be $570.00. Now, if you bring your own wine, they charge a $10 corking fee, as ridiculous as that sounds, it's true. So, we went to Trader Joes and bought 48 bottles of wine at $2.00 per bottle..before you skawf, it is a good wine. Apparently Trader Joes purchased all of the inventory from a winery that was going out of business, and they are selling them for a low $2 per bottle! But honestly, it is good, I tasted it, C tasted it and so did his mom....we bought Cabernet.

Soooo, if you've done the math, you will discover that we will now be paying only $12 per bottle [$2 + $10 corking fee]...we will start with 30 bottles and see if that is enough....so with this new purchase we will only be paying $360 for wine. Not bad, eh??

Well, I'm off to shower, and get ready for bed!

bye kids.
